SAINT SEBASTIAN PLAYERS PRODUCTION POLICIES

Rehearsal procedures

Rehearsals will begin on time. Please try to arrive at least five minutes early so that you are ready to begin at the designated time. No actor should leave a rehearsal without checking with the director.

Anyone who has a conflict with a scheduled rehearsal should notify the director as soon as possible. If the conflict is a last-minute emergency and the director cannot be reached, please leave a message on the theatre’s voicemail—(773) 404-7922.

The director may schedule additional rehearsals as necessary, including brushup rehearsals after the show opens. Please notify the director of any conflicts as soon as possible.

Space procedures

We try to keep our theatre space clean and pest-free. If you bring food or drink into the theatre, please dispose of containers in one of the covered garbage cans or carry them out of the theatre.

SSP maintains a phone line for incoming calls from our patrons. We therefore request that you limit the frequency and length of any outgoing calls. We also request that you leave some change in the container provided; please remember that suburban calls cost more.

Crew requirements

We expect each actor to devote at least five hours to one or more of the production crews, including set construction, scene painting, costumes, props, publicity, group sales and playbill ad sales. The producer will assign actors to crews and provide notice when crew work is taking place.

Depending upon the crew needs of the production, we may ask some actors to handle backstage responsibilities during performances, including striking/setting props, helping actors with costume changes, etc.

We expect all actors and crew members to attend the preshow cleanup day and strike and arrive on time. The technical director will schedule strike to take place as soon as possible after the show closes.

Ticket policies

Full-price tickets cost $15. Any cast or crew member may reserve tickets for friends and family at a discounted rate of $10. Cast/crew should make arrangements with the house manager at least 30 minutes before curtain of the intended performance. The box office will hold reserved tickets, and patrons must pay for their tickets at the box office upon arrival for the performance. There also is a special $7 rate for senior citizens and children under 12, and group rates also are available. Our seating is General Admission- first come, first serve.

Each cast and crew member receives two complimentary tickets for the run, plus two additional comps for every 10 tickets he/she sells. No additional comps are available for agents, family members or other VIPs.

Run of show procedures

Beginning on opening night, actors and crew members who have questions or problems should consult with the stage manager.

The time of the call for performances is the time all actors and crew members are expected to sign in with the stage manager.

Beginning with dress rehearsals, actors are responsible for their costumes, including hanging them up after each performance and keeping them clean. If serious repairs are needed, please consult the costume designer.

The house opens 30 minutes before curtain time. Actors should check their props and take care of any other business on stage or in the house prior to that time. If there is a problem, consult the stage manager. The 30-minute rule also applies to the bathrooms, which are used by the audience. Additionally, the dressing room is limited from this time to actors and necessary crew.

After each performance, actors should change out of their costumes before returning to the theatre or leaving the building; also cast and crew should arrange to meet friends and family in the lobby, rather than in the house.

Everyone working on the production will receive a list of the production staff with phone numbers.
